Question : Hey Doug,  Greg Allen came in for you. He made that phenomenal defensive play what was going through your mind when you see that, and then with Don's home run, just talks about that at bat?

Answer : Greg's a professional,  he's a veteran. He's experienced himself a little bit positions and events great jumps off the bat. He was able to do that tonight on that already. And we've seen that all year long. And it's a pass, as well, you know he's a threat in multiple ways, you know show do what was possible week since he's been back, and he also spends loads of powers Twitter from both sides of the plate. It just puts together professional thoughts whenever that's an opportunity tonight with trading, having a five minute still undecided match that we would rather just have to kind of back up stuff until we get that, and on it. That's a huge, whether you're catching the ball, or losing things are catching on. I know from experience with the amount of rooms where we get fatigued, we get tired sometimes memory it's just really hypertrophy so he got himself ready for that.
You know, it was important to put a big smile on the opportunity up so I thought that shows me a lot of maturity.
Okay. And then my last one for you. You know, you've had a lot of guys from Scranton come up and down, you know, through the whole, you know, injury bug or, you know some guys testing positive, but seeing your guys making their major league debut, what is that like for you to see those guys make their dreams come true.
The first time on the left. That's one of the most exciting things that could possibly happen to you. Everybody's faster than each other here. Everybody gets extremely excited when a guy wants to build the privilege, the first time we try to include everybody when that happens, I don't know unfortunately sometimes you will get a call, you have to make a phone call and calibrate over the phone. So suppose we tapped out an opportunity to several guys this year, just the opportunity to tell guys that, you know, not only are you now experience. You're going to become a New York Yankees. That's a big deal. And that's why everybody tells me that I have aspirations to the birds in that first opportunity.

Question :  Obviously you had your time up in New York so what was it like, you know, getting that call and seeing your teammates get the call to the Big Leagues.  Allen made a big defensive play. Then, Donnie made that huge homerun talk about that as well?

Answer : Every time, and especially Ireland and I have, I mean we'll be here we'll be in New York, I mean it's great to be nice to somebody, you know like for me as a Centerfield I like to know who's the guy next to me so I like to know. Place cable play on spray nice to have him out here and I wish he would be up there on the field. stretch like some run so only con or anything else for us to learn more.

Question : Obviously, you know, the pitchers on getting ahead of you guys for your next game, how are you guys going to step up in your next approach, or take advantage of the pitchers that you're going to face?

Answer : Is going to be this is going to be, because we're going to see who have been together, who's going to be supposed to get the information we're gonna play and so on. So with every pitch is different so the vendors who is in demand. We want to have like playing against him. So, I think, but their main focus is go there and try to get aggressive so try to keep up so when they throw your patient on music and get a good contract on it. So try to win along it on.

Question : You came in relief today to take up some innings. Just, I talked to your pitching coach, you know, he was saying, You're the nicest guy in the world. And you know you've been around with the Yankees for a while, what it's what is it like being the older guy, seeing these younger guys go through the minor league system?

Answer : I'm really enjoying it. I'm just trying to be a mentor, some of these guys really just try to keep perspective, throughout, you know my early season because it's tough, especially this level when you see guys going up and down and you're one step away from the big leagues and just really trying to help guys get ready for the big leagues, you know, and any help I can give them and again just give them perspective and these guys are big me young, and just as much fun as I can.

Question : Tonight in your outing, what was the biggest thing that you were proud of that you did tonight?

Answer :  Be efficient, have had some, some long alleys, a lot of pitches and I think it was your first batter at bat and I was like, here we go again but really just trusting myself in back pitching contact a little bit but I'm really trying to those events come in a tough game and I'm just about to finish it up.

Question :  Greg you guys had a close battle tonight. What were you most proud of, that the guys overcame tonight with Severino not being able to start?

Answer : First and foremost the pitching staff. Notice, I know Bristow, wasn't intending to start this game even critique behind him, I was I was gonna piggyback I think off separating those out and so things were shaken up for them like that on top of having a delay, you know, just the whole kind of random variables that were going on, I thought they did a great job of being able to lock it in focus, came out he gets thrown out and you know, no quick bonus and trouble they're so great but overall I thought that our pitching staff will pull it together in a situation where, again, there was a lot of randomness going on.
It's something urgent. So, us, we understand it's been a lot of movements, end up with wood chopping up pitcher. Think you've come to expect the unexpected, when it, when it comes to what we don't feel like you mentioned, you know things up and down you had time in New York you know you've been up and down some of the other guys.

Question : What is, what is this season been like knowing that, you know, the next man up mentality?

Answer : It's something urgent. Just now there's opportunities, but you've seen the amount of guys that they brought up even most recently on with Gil has been up there and I think the guys understand that they have the opportunity to make an impact. You know because of how long that window of time is whether it's a week whether it's a day whether it's, you know progress here. There, there's, there's, There's value, what they can add, I think you guys are being sent back down again. We won't back up. I think they understand that, you know, it's, it's definitely not in vain, but work that they put in behind closed doors, even if you're down here. What are they watching. It's it's things that will pay off for the future.

Question : So you were just mentioning about arms in last time that I covered Nick green is when he was with Staten Island, he was starting, he came to relief royal, how is his development going as a pitcher in with Adam Warren, you know he's been with big league club he's been with the Yankees organization for a while for him to give you guys those any tonight for the younger guys, how does that help them see an older guy take charge of taking

Answer :  I'll start with Adam in, obviously he's an older presence, and I personally think his stuff is getting closer to, to where it was maybe in the 2016 season back in his heyday, and I think he's kind of seeing that now too and it's taken a while for him to get up to that point you know we had limited innings before the end guys had real short outings because we had such a big bullpen and the guys that have the opt outs and obviously pre COVID and all the mess we got in there. And I think it just took out a little bit of wild, a little while to get adjusted to this comment on him for a few more outs, and, yeah, I mean, just his presence, though, in how he goes about his work. His presence in the bullpen I think is a huge factor for the, especially the younger guys but everybody's just a calming presence. See, people call him the nicest guy in baseball and I knew I'm gonna say the same thing about him. He's a great guy and brings a lot to the table now regard now it's, you know, bigger now, it can can we tweak some things for him to be even more effective than he is already so and then you have Nick green like he's been absolutely phenomenal here as a plate. He's bounced around obviously went down to double A came back, bounced around between starting and relieving. It's kind of finding a niche right now and really it's been about developing a couple pitches, he's got a two seamer now. He's an interesting cat in that the movement on his is normal for seeing basketball which is really a cutter is just super unordinary, and he's got reverse split so he can get lefties out all day. No now since, you know we got your 19 and we got to do something right into guys so we got him a two seamer this year and a slider that he just started. It was with glamp maybe a little bit with Moscow's down in double A, and those two pitches are opening up new doors for him, especially with the right handed bats and I think you've seen that in the last several outings and using them appropriately. But it just added weapons to his arsenal that he didn't have before to combat those reverse splits that he's got so yeah I mean, those guys were phenomenal for us tonight and again it looks like a blowout game and I guess it really was, but in a time that we needed some getting's three of them Josh too and he knows a great opportunity for magic because he was just pitching in Hudson Valley, right, and he's facing guys with several years of big league time and got roughed up a little bit here, but I think there's a lot of bright spots to draw upon him. You might see the the five running and think that was a bad outing but didn't do for bid, just to get us to the fourth inning and let those guys go at.
