Tim Tebow Interview

Question :  Tim, like you said, playing football in college going through this process, what would you say is your favorite thing about the process and what would you tell your younger baseball self about it?

Answer : “I tell my self…. That’s a really good question. I don’t know, I think to probably enjoy all the times, not just the good but also the bad and be able to keep perspective. I think so much about life is about perspective. We can get caught up in the here and the now, you know the disappointments, you hit a few balls hard they don’t go through, you get disappointed, but it is still about perspective. You’re still out there playing a kid’s game and what a blessing it is to do it. I also want to keep perspective about everything we have and the blessings in this world. That’s one reason I’m so grateful to travel to so many countries and see what else so many other people are going through. I think that really helps me keep things in perspective of the true blessings that we have.”

Question: With the crazy rain we had, the game getting postponed, playing a double header today and your guys winning with a walk-off, what do you think was today's turning point for the guys in the lineup and your guys on the mound?

Answer: Well the biggest turning point was to continue to get guys out there, to give ourselves a chance to win a baseball game and that's one of the things we have done a good job on all year. I'm pretty excited on what I have.

Question:  There has been, in the Big Leagues (The New York Yankees) a lot of injuries with Kyle Higashioka coming up and down and some other guys too but for Kyle, he seems to have taken control of this pitching staff...  what's the biggest thing you think he has done? And who has stepped up for your guys coming up recently?

Answer: A lot of guys.. I will answer both of your questions. There are a couple of guys in there Kyle has done a great job so it's nice to have a guy who has a lot of experience. A few years going up to the major leagues and coaching that staff so he's been a help, Lavarnway has done as nice job as well.. and so it's given us an opportunity to have our pitchers feel comfortable and the guys who come up have done good job, David Sosebeeand Rayel Espinal both throw well. There have been a few moves this year. We already got 38 guys on the roster, fun to see guys come in and step up it has been nice.

Question : For a lot of the guys that have been called up, have you payed attention to how they are doing in the big leagues? For you as their Triple A Manger how does it make you feel to see them doing so well at the big league level?

Answer : “We're invested last year I was managing in Double A (Trenton) I think yesterday Connor and I were talking about Double A to the Big League you don't have too many guys who are ready so I it was a little to faraway for me to pay attention but I did watch Loaisiga games and a couple of the other guys last year as well but I didnt pay a whole lot of attention to what was going on in New York, But this year I had so many guys go up that I've watched them on a regular basis, it's fun to see what they are doing. Wade's done a great job, Clint Frazier's done a great job, Ford's done a nice job, Tyrell, has done a good job,Harvey, Tarpley they have done their job they've allowed the Major league team to have great deal of success and they've been a part of that success and that's our job to prepare them to do just that. thank you

Question :  Chad, you made a change in your mechanics what made you do that was it looking at film or muscle memory thing,  something didn’t feel right?  When did you realize I need to make a change?

Answer :  I think I was looking at film for the most part it was something I've been doing for the past 2 to 3 weeks. It big making a big chance the past days working with Phelps (pitching coach) and some need to continue again looking at film and doing sides by sides of couple years ago and continue to do that as well.

Question: From tonight's performance, what is the biggest thing you learned from your last outing to this outing?

Answer:  “Just fastball command, having confidence in that pitch again. I think I lost that a little bit so being able to attack guys with that pitch and throw the secondary stuff to get them off the fastball. It was going good and that what I do going to continue to work on that."
