Our game of the week will be the Maryland vs Penn State game. We are covering some local talent from Penn State former Briar Woods QB Trace McSorley, Wide receiver Brandon Polk and former Fairfax High School Safety Nick Scott and from Maryland former Lake Braddock QB Caleb Henderson and Gonzaga's Lineman Johnny Jordon. Special Post Game Notes from our Penn State vs Maryland Game of the Week
Former Briar Woods Quarterback Trace McSorley helped Penn State defeat Maryland with a Score of 66 to 3. Trace’s stats from the game were Passing 22 complete, attempted 33 passes for 237 yards, 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Trace had 7 rushes for 36 yards and one touchdown. The final game of the season lead Trace to back to back 10 win seasons for Penn State. Trace also became the first Penn State Quarterback in Team History to have two 3,000 – yard passing seasons and 27 straight games with a passing touchdown. Penn State now waits to see who they will play against in there Bowl Game. Coach James Franklin said in his post game interview that he wanted to thank all the Penn State Fans for coming to their games on the road. He feels they are heading in the right direction and thanked the media for coming. During their time off coached talked about how they want to improve both on and off the field. Backup Quarterback Tommy Stevens said he learned a lot from Trace about how to prepare and with his performance as well. When it came time to relieve Trace late in the 3rd quarter, all he learned really helped him.
