Question : Liz, thanks for taking the time today, a quick question for you, market, you know, was playing, you know, very strong defense against you guys for you offensively and defensively. What were you most proud of, of your team today.
Answer : I think we adjusted well because once we saw that they were doubling at first we weren't doing as good of a job of moving but I think as the game went on we did and that helped us get at least I think three maybe four wide open labs and, you know, that would have been the difference in the game so it's good that we got those and I'm glad that we could fix that as the game went on.
Question : Liz, like you said before, you know you don't matter who you play, you know it's March Madness Things are crazy. How excited are you, if it is Baylor to face a big opponent like that and you know, potentially, you know, make an upset.

Answer : Um, I mean, I've been super excited and I know you know, if we win that game, then I don't think I'll be thinking about Baylor as much as getting in the sweet 16 for our program and all of our team but it's just a great opportunity because we get to test you know ourselves and we know they're good team and we can just show how good we are, as well.

Question : Hey Ashley Michael Ferrara here with BURG Sports Network.
You and the team scored 98 points today you guys were almost 100 At the end of the game did you guys kind of notice that you were almost to 100 and I know you say you take it one game at a time, but you're gonna face Alabama, you know, what's it like to have, you know, two big school names, you know, with this March Madness tournament How exciting is that to go against the Crimson Tide.

Answer : Um is exciting. Um you know every round is it gets better and better. So, um, like I said earlier, just taking it one game at a time and coming in mentally and physically ready for each game.
Question : Hi coach Michael Ferrara here with BURG Sports Network, obviously you guys scored a lot of points today, you know, for in the beginning of the tournament scoring a lot of points, how does that help you get your starters out and let the younger players get experience in the tournament.
Answer : Yeah, today was a great day, you know, I mean when you look at, no one had to play heavy minutes, you know, you know, and again, you know you need to be able to build that experience and that depth off the bench so you know I love the fact that every player was able to be able to get in and play, you know, as significant minutes, and you know that just helps us, you know, to you know be able to advance and continue to have fresh legs.
Question : Then my second question for you, you know, they've been talking about, you know, comparing, you know, this team now to the national championship, you know, you showed them the trophy for the younger Maryland fans or you know the freshmen students who may not know about you know the past teams, what what makes so special comparing these two teams, and with this program.
Answer : You know, I'd say, you know, first of all the chemistry I mean the sisterhood, you know, that's the thing for me that I can point to right away is, you know, in order to be a team that has a shot I mean you have to have that kind of unselfishness when you look at our box score and, you know, every player has system scores and you know, you know five players in double figures, you know, they play the right way. I mean, obviously the thing standing between the two of them is that they were 16 has a national title. This one is yet to be determined, but I love the way this team plays you know this team actually has a better assist to turnover ratio than that it was 16 but, you know, the only 16 still has the trophy and, you know, we're excited for this team to see what lies ahead.

Question : Hi DJ Michael Ferrara here we're BURG Sports Network, you guys hold Virginia Tech to 48 points tonight under 50 What were you most proud of your defensive today.
Answer : I think the way we protect the paint, I don't know how many points they got in the paint but it couldn't have been too many. Like I said, our posts were just so tough to get past any time our guards got be on the drive or anything. We knew there's no point of us falling because we have clean in the list of back there who are gonna send that. The other way so I'm just proud of how we protected the paint .

Question : Correct me if I'm wrong, you guys are going to be facing Michigan next Have you seen any of them play before. How are you & your teammates going to prepare for Michigan?

Answer : I'm personally not sure yeah I know the coaches probably have a game plan that they're going to get working on tonight, but we never want to look ahead, we try to take a one day and one game at a time. I personally haven't seen much of Michigan being that they're in a different conference but I have full confidence in our coaching staff and in my teammates that whatever the coaches tell us to do that we're going to be able to put it into action.
Question : Hi, coach Michael Ferrara here with BURG Sports Network. I ask this to DJ, as well you & your team  held Virginia Tech Under 50 points. What were you most proud of your defense today?
Answer : Well I was proud how excited and intense that we came out of, you know, after the tip ball I just saw kids helping each other I saw every time they tried to drive we had another player there. I saw you knew they were going to shoot a lot of threes I saw kids contest shots block shots just activity, I just thought we were very active. And I thought that we communicated well on the defensive end and you don't ever want to give up easy shots and I just didn't think Virginia Tech ever had any just easy looks, and probably those two things activity and communication.

Question : And then my last question for you, you know, obviously you said you've been coaching for a long time. You scored a lot tonight, and I've asked this same question as some coaches in the tournament, how does that help you as a coach to get younger players in to get them that March Madness experience, to let them
know I you talked to them and scouting reports, you've talked to them in timeouts. It was important for us to extend leads, and we came out at halftime and we were at what 24 So, the first five minutes of that third quarter are important. And, and the reason it's important is that you want to get freshmen out there. You don't ever know when an injury or hit somebody you don't ever know when somebody is going to get in foul trouble more than just one player and your opportunity comes and you want them to be comfortable and have gained some kind of experience prior to, You know, a big game.

Interview with Louisville Basketball player

Dana Evans

& Head Coach Jeff Walz

Question : Hi, Dana, Michael Ferrara with BURG Sports Network, obviously in the broadcast ESPN, they were mentioning, you know, Oregon, had some tall players and you guys had a lot of speed, how did you guys take advantage with your offense today against Oregon's tall players.

Answer : Well I was just saying we push the ball we spent the tempo. We just tried to get the ball movement in a lot of ball movement keep getting the rivers in attack off the bounce and try to get everyone open shots.
So I think we had a good night shooting the ball I was saying that we were just taking good shots.

Question : Coach, They mentioned in in the broadcast that you know, Oregon has a very tall team and you guys have a lot of speed on your team. What did you like about your offense tonight that took advantage, you know, against Oregon's tall players and how excited are you to face Stanford.
Answer : First off, you know, I thought we did a really nice job in the second period of creating points from our defense, I mean we ended up with, with 21 Points off their 14 turnovers. And then I think the, the stat of the night was we had 18 second chance points so they're 13 and then, we scored 28 points in the paint, compared to their 24. So, I just thought we moved the ball, much better than then we did, starting the let the last two games. And I thought we, we just play. We play we made some great passes, And then, I'm proud of them because they allowed me to coach you know, right there at the end of the third quarter we went and did a little 1122 Press that we had done the entire game and we come up with a huge steel. We missed the shot but then Haley van Lith comes up with the old board. And then, you know, a heady smart high IQ basketball play, is she doesn't go back up with the old board and try to score we throw it out so we're getting the last shot of that quarter, and we get a layup from it. So, just the kids allowed me to do some things during the games which you know I appreciate because that's part of the game that I really enjoy. And it was just a great effort, top to bottom, from all of them.

Interview with Arizona Basketball player

Aari McDonald

Question : Hi Aari Michael Ferrara with BURG Sports Network for you and for the seniors, what does this mean for you guys as a class. And for,you know what is Coach mean to you throughout your journey in Arizona.

Answer : Yeah. As seniors this means a lot. I say we got to go out with a bang and we're definitely done then. Coach Barnes means a lot to me. She's like an older sister, like a mother to me away from home, always helping me, I know that I can go and talk to her about, you know, not just basketball but life know what I'm going through and what I'm dealing with. You just always want to have a relational coach on your side and I think that's how you know, it kind of plays a part in basketball and I trust her and she trusts me so I mean, this a young players play for a coach who believed he was very relational with you and it just doesn't care about you on a corporate cares about your well being.

Interview with

Stanford

Head Basketball Coach Tara Vanderveer

Question : Hi coach Michael Ferrara with BURG Sports Network, you mentioned it earlier that this team, you know you told the team their middle name needs to be flexible, for you, what do you love the most about this team and what makes this group so special.
Answer : Well I think what I really liked the most about them is their show unselfish and they're, they're so team oriented, you know, obviously Haley had a big game, but throughout the tournament, Ashish had a big game, cat has had a big game, and a Wilson or Lexi or Lacey or had a job or, you know, a lot of different people can contribute for us so it's, I think they're, they're really a very team oriented, very focused on our team doing well and not out for themselves are very unselfish.

Question : Hi coach Michael Ferrara with BURG Sports Network here, as you seen the confetti was falling the players were cutting the net, you know your assistant coaches what was going through your mind seeing all them, you know, celebrate you know after all of you guys been through, through this whole pandemic. How do you feel that it's finally done. And my second question for you, for the fans, they may not know how tough was that Arizona team and how exciting was it to play that team tonight,

Answer : Arizona team is really tough and again a Adia Barnes staff, you know, areas like super quick. You know you, they just built on their their confidence is built and built and built throughout the tournament, the fact that we've beaten them twice and quite honestly in Arizona we beat them very badly. A real credit to their, their team and staff and they played great. You know what I was thinking about was, I can't believe that. We're just like, Is this really happening, this whole year has been so weird. You know everything about it and you're just like, but we're I'm so excited, I'm so happy for our team, our fans, our parents, you know everything.
