Game Week Opening Statement & Interview with Florida State Head Coach, Mike Norvell

Opening Statement : First off, we were really proud of our players to be able to go through this year, that 12 opportunities and to be able to find a way to win each of those games to finish right our season undefeated league it's a four time and unforeseen history to be told that Oh, it's a big win last night. You know, winning the state championship back to back years is something that we know is important to our program and to all Seminoles and you are there guys you know they bought they fought hard last night in a very challenging and atmosphere on and once again to show the team that we are and I think that's something that's you consensually showed up that all three phases about opportunities to be able to impact and help win games then your guys have tremendous heart determination. Very talented players, but you know how they do things are what I'm what I'm most proud of, than, you know, this week, we play another talented team. You know, one that you present so many different challenges, but you know, it's about us it's still about our growth, our improvement. You know, we just had a team meeting and you know, our guys are excited and excited to get better and to be sitting here at 12 and Oh, and to be able to see the areas of growth that we need to continue to improve upon. You know, it's it's certain sense of urgency, and you know, it's great to be, you know, in the ACC championship game, you know, first time we would know division so it really came down to the top two teams and you know, we've got two great teams that are gonna square it off come Saturday night.
Question : Can you kind of talk about you say the word adversity a lot. Can you talk about the development in adversity of your quarterback state and what you've kind of learned about him so far this year?

Answer : Well, I mean, you know, as as you come into a season when you're somebody that has your experience and your years on your belt like T does I mean he's he's been through it and you know that I think as much as anything the choice to be willing to fight to be willing to compete the to be ready one is number has been called to something that you It's hard because especially in today's age of college athletics, I mean, it's it's pretty easy to be able to go somewhere else and, you know, he's made the choice to be in this situation to prepare to get better. And, you know, just I'm proud of him for for what he's done and, and the times that he's been able to get out there on the field and we talked extensively this past week of, you know, his first start, you know, on the road I mean, it was a it was allowed, you have challenging atmosphere, but one thing I was most proud of with is that you know, he owned the football you know, it didn't have any turnovers you know, he was we did have some some tough plays and he was put in some tough situations and when it comes to feel position and you know, even some of the down in distance, you know, things that showed up but you know, he was he was very winnable I thought he made some big throws in the game that was really provided a spark for us a couple of big third down conversions. And, you know, just proud of him for how he's been able to maintain but it goes to a lot more than just what's happening out there on the field

Game Week
Opening Statement & Interview with
University of Louisville Head Coach,Jeff Brohm

Opening Statement : Well, thank you well, we're excited about this great opportunity to go down to Charlotte playing the ACC championship game against a tremendous undefeated Florida State Florida State team. That's, it's been just really fantastic all year long. They've got a ton of talent. They're well coached. They've been able to win. Every game close games, blowouts, you name it, but they find a way to win so I think they just know how to dig deep and figure this thing out. And because of it, they've earned the right to be the, you know, an undefeated team in this conference championship and we're excited to be to have the opportunity to play and I think our guys understand that. You know, it's gonna take a lot of work this week. We got to improve on a lot of things. This past week didn't go as well for us as we would like, and there's a lot of things to learn from it. And that starts with me and our coaches, and we've got to get better at a few small details that hurt us this past week and make sure we make those corrections and help our players be in the best position to succeed but I know our guys will be jacked up and excited to play in this type of environment and level of competition and it'll be a tremendous test for us and measure exactly where we're at.

Question : Coach two part question for you here. Your quarterback Jack has been you know, he's a veteran. He's been, you know, to a couple schools and stuff like that. How do you think his experience will help him in a big game like this? And college football is so special Can you tie kind of talk about how the fans have meant to you guys this in your first season with Louisville.

Answer : Okay, so Jack Kamara is a great young man really works hard cares, wants to win. Let's play a lot of football. I think he understands his strengths. his weaknesses, we try to play to it. He can be very efficient at times and other times. You know, we just gotta be really careful making sure we take care of the ball and I think he's tried very hard to do that. You can't play a perfect game and you know, we want to just get the most out of Jack as we can and help him not have to carry the whole team on and use the running game and some other things to help him defense special teams. So he didn't have to make all the hard throws. But he's done a really good job this point. And I just think that, you know, because he cares that he's trying hard, the players see it and they respect that as far as your next question was all our fans here what? You know, I know this fan base. I have for a long time. They're passionate about winning. They want to support a championship type of level program. They want to compete against the best, but they just want to see a great brand of football guys that are into it. They're trying hard, they're given everything they got, and they're competing to the end. So I hope that we have provided that this year to a certain degree. While there's many things to learn upon, you know, I want our guys to play hard and play tough and play smart and play to the end. And that's got to be the motto that we build off of and of course, as you develop talent and you continue to get better and as much as you can, you've got a lien on that as well. And this fan base was in full force for the Kentucky game. They did their part. Unfortunately, we did not do ours. But you know, I think they saw a really tight bargain. They went down to the wire and we didn't quit we kept playing to the end but unfortunately just couldn't get it done. So they want to they want another shot. This week had a great team. And you know, this is a great football team. So this while we played some good football team this year, this is the best team we've faced to date with our question every week. They've got talent across the board. They're well coached and they're playing this competency right now.

Game Day Interviews
with Florida State's
Defensive Coordinator,
Adam Fuller

Question : Can you kind of talk about the senior leadership and what the seniors have meant to you on defense?

Answer : I mean, I kind of went through that. Before we played in that senior day game at Doak. There were it would do injustice if I just sort of said what they mean to me cuz individually and collectively. I mean, it's just it's a special group as I've ever been connected with. And part of its you've been here for years now. I mean, you develop strong relationships, and all these things that were happening with these seniors were not all successful and to see them battled to see them really stand up in the face of adversity. They will live with me forever.

Game Day Interview with Florida State's Kicker,
Ryan Fitzgerald

Question : of a two part question for you here. Can you talk about the final seconds what was going through your mind when you won the ACC championship and how did you prepare for today's conditions?

Answer : You know, we kind of thought that well the first part you know what was going through my mind was just just so much excitement so, so much excitement this team has worked so freaking hard since coach got here in 2020, and just the battling of ups and downs, and to finally have that moment come true. It means so so much to me and my teammates. And so we're you know, we're not done yet. Like Coach says,  Yeah, throughout the week, we knew that there was a chance of some rain and some wind so we got some wet ball work and you know, we I have a veteran long snapper veteran holder. So, you know, we're, we all kind of know each other really well and we played in conditions practiced in all kinds of conditions. So yeah, we were very prepared for the ACC championship.
Florida State Kicker, Ryan Fitzgerald, made 3 out of 4 attempts and his longest field goal kick was 45 yards

Question : Can you kind of talk about how did you prepare for today's conditions? How did you prepare Louisville?

Answer : the same thing you do every week? Just take every day and bring the best, the best, best, the best foot forward every day and just be the best we can to put ourselves in the best position possible to win
and then can you kind of talk you know the weather is not the best you have the fan base state through thick and thin keep talking about what the fans have meant this year out affairs media why they come every day and they come show up to come show out so it means a lot to have our fans I was traveling with us and then just senior leadership overall what is the scrutiny meant to you? It means a lot because I didn't come back to go to a bowl game I came back to win on my team and do everything that needed to be done to help us out.

Game Day Interview with Florida State's Defensive Lineman, Jared Verse

Question : kind of a two part question for you here. The guy on your shirt. Jordan, what is he kind of meant to you and said this program and can we talk about the leader ship of the seniors this group overall as a whole. Jay

Answer : Chou that's one of my brothers. You know, a lot of programs you go out and you talk to him. You're like, oh, yeah, there's a brother. That's one of my brothers. He went down and feel like you can see how much it affected everyone in the crowd. Because that's the type of leader he is and everyone's just genuinely affected by that. It was like that was one of the worst people for that to happen to him. You know, even to his injury he He's tough into it. He's on the low the low vehicle taking them off the field. He's just trying to keep holding it all together. And that's because he knew what we had to be done that day.
He knew he just had to put his emotion aside, put his pain side so we can handle it.
Florida State's Jared Verse had 6 total tackles and 2 sacks against Louisville
